Neodymium magnets: common questions
Is neodymium the same as NdFeB?
Yes. NdFeB (neodymium-iron-boron) is the material; people search for it as neodymium or rare-earth magnets.
Which grade should I choose?
Higher numbers are stronger. The letter sets the temperature: N up to 80 °C, M 100 °C, H 120 °C, SH 150 °C, UH 180 °C, EH 200 °C.
Above 200 °C?
Use SmCo (samarium cobalt). See our SmCo page.
Can you make a custom size?
Yes. Send a drawing or the dimensions, grade, coating and quantity.
What coating do you use?
Coating depends on the job. Tell us the environment and we will confirm the coating at quotation.
Are they safe to handle?
Large neodymium magnets snap together hard and can pinch fingers or crack. Handle with care and keep them away from pacemakers and electronics.
