What are magnetic separators?

Magnetic separators remove ferrous metal contaminants from powders, liquids and bulk solids using permanent magnets. Common industrial types are grate, bullet, drawer, pulley and plate magnets. Arrowmatics Magnets supplies these for Malaysian factories, typically in the 10,000–13,000 gauss range for rare-earth designs. See magnetic separators.

Full-weld plate magnets for food plants working to HACCP / ISO 22000?

Yes, for food plants — but Arrowmatics is not itself certified. We build 100% full-weld SS304/SS316/SS316L plate magnets with a typical surface field of up to ~10,000 Gauss (confirm per application and air gap), continuous seal welds, no crevices or exposed fasteners, and a smooth, cleanable finish. They are designed to support your HACCP and ISO 22000 food-safety programme. Are magnetic bars full-weld?

Full-weld construction is available for magnetic bars, tubes, threaded square bars and grate magnets, built to order for food, pharma and hygiene-sensitive lines. Not every bar model is full weld, so please confirm the build spec at quotation.

Why full weld: without full weld, grate and bar magnets can be assembled with screws or nuts to hold parts together. Those fasteners create crevices and threads where product deposit builds up and can cause corrosion, which is a hygiene problem. Full weld removes the screws, nuts and threads, so there is nowhere for deposit to sit. Also: no crevices for product, grease or moisture to trap (easier to clean and inspect); the NdFeB core is sealed from water, so no rust or magnet dust contamination; it withstands wet washdown and high-pressure cleaning; it resists vibration and impact so end caps and welds do not loosen; and the weld is smooth and polished with no exposed fasteners or grooves.

Materials: stainless steel grades 304, 316 and 316L are available for construction. 316 and 316L generally suit more corrosive or washdown-heavy environments. Please confirm the grade at quotation.

What gauss rating do your separators use?

Rare-earth separator designs we commonly quote operate around 10,000–13,000 gauss at the tube or pole face, depending on type and application. Ceramic/ferrite options may suit coarse tramp metal at lower field.

Is NdFeB N52 the strongest commercial magnet grade?

Among common sintered NdFeB grades for general industry, N52 sits at the high end of energy product (about 52 MGOe). We supply N35–N52. Temperature rating and coating often matter more than chasing the highest “N” number alone. Details on NdFeB magnets.

What NdFeB grades do you supply?

Sintered NdFeB from N35 to N52 in blocks, discs, rings, arcs and custom shapes. Coatings (NiCuNi, epoxy, zinc and others) are quoted per RFQ. No published RM prices.

What is a suspension (overband) magnet and what do you need to quote one?

A suspension magnet hangs over a conveyor belt and pulls tramp iron out of the material passing underneath. Overband types clear the iron automatically with a running belt; suspended plate types are cleaned by hand. To quote, send belt width, belt speed, burden depth, hanging height and the iron you need to remove on WhatsApp. See suspension magnets.

Overband or suspended plate magnet — which should I choose?

Overband (self-cleaning) magnets have a running belt and suit continuous or heavier tramp-iron loads. Suspended plate magnets are fixed plates cleaned by hand and suit lighter loads with easy access. Share belt width, burden depth and hanging height on WhatsApp for a recommendation.

Which magnetic separator do I need?

Choose by how your product moves. Free-flowing powder or granules falling through a hopper or chute usually points to a grate or drawer magnet. Material on a conveyor belt points to a suspension (overband or suspended plate) magnet. Liquids, sauces and slurries in a pipeline point to a liquid line / filter magnetic trap. What do you need to know to size a magnetic separator?

Send the material and form (powder, granules, liquid, slurry), the contaminant and its size, flow rate, particle size, moisture, temperature, and the pipe, chute, hopper or belt size (for conveyors: belt width, speed, burden depth and hanging height). Whether the line is food-grade matters too. A photo or sketch of the spot helps most. Size, grade and gauss are confirmed at quotation.
